Description:
Radio-Controlled Aircraft, or RC Aircraft as it is popularly known, is an airplane that is controlled remotely. The airplane has an engine and servo motors, fixed on board, for stability and controls. The aeromodels are controlled manually from the ground using a Radio transmitter. The RC Aircraft Design, Fabrication and Flying is an aeromodelling workshop that helps participants learn about the dynamics and design of an airplane. This workshop on aeromodelling would introduce the participants to the four pillars of Aerospace Engineering - Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Aircraft Propulsion and Structures, with stress on the first two topics. Aeromodelling is a very interesting and fun manner to learn the complex theory behind aircrafts. In this workshop, basics of electronics relevant to RC aeromodelling(radio controls, servo motors) and i.c engine/electric motor would also be covered.

GPS Based Treasure Hunt

Description:
Our treasure hunt is information-based scavenger hunts, or puzzle hunts,  in which teams use their collective brainpower to solve clues.  Each team is presented with a group of puzzles,GPS co ordinates or clues, which teams must solve in order to find treasure. Each clue leads to a location within walking distance, where players finds the next clue or question. Teams travel through the college campus racing to see who will be first to find the treasure. After solving all the clues and finding the treasure team will return the tresure to the designated endpoint to get the rewards.

Time : 12:00 pm

Rules: The rules for a treasure hunt are designed to make it a fair and fun experience for everyone. Teams are out in a public setting and must really police themselves to ensure that everyone complies with the rules.

• Do not open and view the clues prior to the announcement that the hunt has started.
• Teams must travel on foot
• Teams must stay together.
• Teams may use smartphones or mobile internet devices.
• Do not move, tamper with, destroy, or otherwise alter the answers at the clue locations.
• All team members must be present when returning the treasure to the committee.

Innovation Showcast

Description:
Are you innnovative and interested in creating things?. Well here is a place where you can showcase your innovative projects and win exciting prizes. The Projects can be based on any type of microprocessor, controller or any other chip.

Time : 2:00 pm

Rules: The Contestants will have to register submitting synopisis of their project (online), they can also email their synopsis by emailing at : Questdown@gmail.com. After few days of their registeration, 8 projects will be shotlisted and these shortlisted candidates will get an email with the details confirming their entry in contest.

Technobuzz

Description:
For all the quiz enthusiasts, we are organizing Technobuzz, a technical quiz contest. Questions will be asked from the basics of all engineering disciplines, daily life science phenomenon, on the basis of practical applications, current affairs in science & technology and basic aptitude questions.

Time : 12:30 pm

Rules:

• Their will be an oral quiz which will have 3 rounds in which 6 teams will compete.
• Two teams will be eliminated at the end of 1st and 2nd round.
• Participants should form a group of four students.
• Participant can register on the day of event.

Idea 2 App Contest

Description:
This event would be the android mobile application contest. In this event, student/group have to choose their own unique idea for the mobile app developement. The Students first have to submit their ideas and then best 8 idea/topic would be shorlisted for the final contest. In the contest, each group have to present the live demonstration of their mobile app on the android device that will be given at the time of contest. The Best App will win the contest.

• Maximum of 8 mins will be given per user to demonstrate their app.

Web Development (Workshop)

Description:
A Practical Intro to Web Design This one and a half hour workshop is for beginners who have never made a website before. If you are looking to take your first steps with web development, this workshop is for you. Students will learn how to: -Begin crafting professional web designs using HTML5 + CSS3 + PHP+ Javascript -Quickly get your first site up and running . Professional from Hyderabad will conduct this workshop, he will also be giving Free (.com) Domain, Free Webhosting in this workshop to every student. Along with this each student will get a certification for this Workshop from the hosting company.

C/C++ Debugging Challenge

Description:
Every programmer who has crossed skill levels beyond the "hello world" phase, has learnt to fear those mysterious fiends called bugs. Seeing the enigmatic 'seg. fault' on the screen sends chills down the spine of even some veterans! To deal with such entities requires a level patience and skill that escapes ordinary programmers. Think you are up to it? Are you one of those gifted few who can spot a bug like the eagle does a mouse? Why doubt when you can find out !

Format:

PRELIMS:
• The prelims, basically a written type, in which the participants are supposed to crack the bugs in C++ concepts.
• Time limit for the prelims is 45 minutes.The participants will be shortlisted for the finals based on the maximum no. of correct answers (in case of a tie,starred questions are considered)

Finals:

• The format for the finals will be disclosed only at the time of the event.
• Faster you crack the bugs,the more faster you win the race.

Rules:

• Each team can have atmost two members.
• The participants of the Debugging Duo need not be from the same institution.
• The anti-buggies can register themselves on the spot for the event.
• The participants are ought to produce their college ID cards at the time of registration.
• Necessary gadgets for the contest would be provided.

Presenter’s Battle

Description:
MIET to encourage the efforts of those who would like to ideate for a better future, PAPER PRESENTATION provides an ideal platform for the thinkers of this generation. For those who wish to voice their innovative ideas in an effective manner, we provide an opportunity to network, compete and grow with the best. Hone your technical and presentation skills at our launch pad for students to discuss the emerging technology issues, explore a variety of perspectives and probable solutions. After all, the best designs of todays technology started as mere blueprints, so who knows where yours might take you.

Format:

Round1:
• Online paper submission
• The participants are required to submit a full paper.
• The topic of the paper submitted can pertain to one of the tracks declared.
• The selection in the first round will be based on the paper submitted.
• All papers must be submitted electronically at "questdown@gmail.com" in with subject "Paper Submission and the Department" to which the paper belongs. The paper should begin with a 2-para abstract.
• Details of all the team members: names, department and college should be sent along with the paper.

Round2:
• Presentation during MIET SAMMAILAN 2K14
• The main event will be an on-stage event.
• The teams shortlisted after round 1 will be required to present the paper. More info will be provided soon.

Rules:

• The competition is open to undergraduate students of all disciplines.
• No student can be the author of more than one paper.
• Each team may have maximum two members.

Pixel Play

Description:
It is a Photography contest where the contestants have to bring their own cameras and they will be given 30 to do photography within the campus and the best photograph will win the Reward!

Time : 02:30 pm

Rules: The rules for the Pxiel Play are designed to make it a fair and fun experience for everyone. 

• Contestants are not allowed to leave the campus when the contest is running.
• Contestants have to format their camera memory card before the start of the contest
• Contestants have to report back to their start location within 30mins of the contest otherwise they will be disqualified
